Plaintain fry

Ingredients:

Plantains: 2 Skin removed and cut into cubes

1 onion chopped

1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste

4 green chillies slit length wise

5-6 coriander leaves chopped

1/2 tsp jeera

2 tbsp peanuts

1 tbsp channa dal

1/4 tsp turmeric

1/2 tbsp chilli powder

Salt to taste

1 tsp dry coconut powder

Oil for frying

5 tsp of oil

 Method:

  1. Heat the oil.
  2. Deep fry the plantains in small batches for about 2-3 mts per batch.
  3. Heat the oil.
  4. Add jeera, peanuts and channa dal
  5. After they brown up, add onions and chillies.
  6. Fry until onion becomes little translucent, and add ginger garlic paste.
  7. Fry for few seconds and add turmeric and plantains.
  8. Mix everything once and add chilli powder, salt and coconut powder.
  9. Fry for a minute and sprinkle some water on it.
  10. Keep the lid on and cook for about 5-10 mts taking care not to burn it.
  11. Garnish with coriander leaves and enjoy.
  12. We had ours with chapathi and it was yummy and delicious
