Tomato pacchadi

Tomato pacchadi

Ingredients:

7 medium ripe tomatoes

3 cloves of garlic crushed

3-4 curry leaves

1 tsp cumin seeds

1 tsp mustard seeds

2 red chillies

1/4 tsp turmeric

1 tbsp of chilli powder

1/2 tbsp sesame seeds powder

Salt according to your taste

1/4 tsp cumin powder

Method:

  • Heat 4 tbsp of oil.
  • Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and red chillis.
  • After they splutter add garlic and fry for few seconds.
  • Add turmeric, tomatoes, chilli powder and salt.
  • Keep the lid on and cook until tomatoes becomes soft.
  • Add sesame seeds powder and cumin powder.
  • Mix everything and keep on low flame for 20 mts mixing every 2 mts.
  • Enjoy…………………

    Thanks aparna for your comment. That’s a good suggestion to make it with French beans also. I have had it before and i like it too. Will update my post. Your chutney looks yum :-)

    what an irony! In about half an hours time I’ll start making my first ever tomato chutney! I have got lots of tomatoes from my garden and didn’t know what to do with them.
    Now, your recipe is so reassuring in my plans to make the chutney. Mine is quite similar to yours :)
